I won't beat around the bush; "Incel" is short for "Involuntarily Celibate" and refers to a group of sad (mostly) young men who are frustrated and angry that no one will have sex with them.

I'm no expert on the Incel movement but aren't they the ones that coined that term and use for themselves? - TS can clarify that one

Yes it was originally used in an article by a woman jokingly describing herself (because she couldn't find a partner) and then it was adopted and used by Redpill/blackpill basement boys on Reddit, before finding its way into the more mainstream. Obviously a lot of them won't unironically use the term "incel" about themselves any more because it's been discovered by "outsiders" and "used against them". Some of them do indeed still refer to themselves as "the incel community" though.

I'd have even less hope for the world than I do already if I thought that all men (or even a large proportion of men) were incels, Alf .

I don't even think that all men who say incelly-stuff are ACTUAL incels, they're just wrapped up in that piller mindset.

But for me I think of people like Andrew Tate who are telling young guys to basically treat women like objects to be won rather than as people.
