Or head for a clean water source (up some nice hills) - just make sure you boil and sterilise it first as it can still contain parasites.

Really if you're going to stockpile something just stockpile a few boxes of water sterilisation tablets. Less than £100 will be enough for a whole family for a year at least and you can keep them in a container the size of a shoebox.
