Perhaps, the mirror telling her these things every day twisted her psychology, making her think it was the most important thing anyone could be... ... "YOU'RE the best" said the mirror every day... and then one day, it said "Nah this girl YOUNG ENOUGH TO BE MY DAUGHTER is better looking than you actually" and she just snapped.
The true villain of Snow White is the mirror itself... representing intrusive subconscious vanity, deep-rooted insecurity, and the battle of ego vs aging?
