What a balanced article that was! There's no smoke without fire so she must have done something wrong. I can;t really say anything that hasn''t already been said really, Fom summed up my sentiments perfectly.

I laughed when I saw it was written by the Christian Institute. Basically, they are the equivalent to homophobia what Combat 18 are to anti-semitism.

But there is also the case of a street preacher who just quoted a passage from the Bible, possibly Romans 1 and in particular versus 24 - 27 which was documenting homosexual behaviour. He was arrested and charge on a similar offence.

Now this verse has been read in churches for quite some time, which has been argued to be a public place.

Are you now saying that people in church are banned from reading out Bible passages?

What about those parts of the Koran and the Torrah that speak out about homosexual behaviour.

This is a case of a letter to a council, read by only how many people?

What happened to Voltaire who is supposed to have said "I disagree entirely with what you are saying, but I will defend to the death your right to say it"

is a great post and an adult one too. Too many people on this forum cannot see beyond their own worldview and it is that which causes all the problems in this world.

Saying homosexuals are sinners and are, in all likelihood, going to hell because they are not leading the lifestyle you want them to lead? Works both ways.

The only difference is hell is imaginary. Gay Pride parades are not. And walking through a Gay Pride parade to drag them down and preach to them is moronic. These are known as facts of life. Have fun with them.

If thats what she believes fair enough but she doesn't need to push her beliefs in other peoples faces!

She might think that being Gay is wrong so she doesn't have to be Gay but these people aren't hurting anyone by being Gay so why harass them?

No, but reading out anti-gay passages and handing out anti-gay leaflets at a gay pride event is like me bursting into your church to criticize Jesus and the bible.

not necessarily as that would be in the building but outside the church gates would be an example and I would be fairly certain that the person would not be abused.
