Now watching Alien Autopsy. Ant and Dec are in it, is quite funny.

Murder in the Mews. Wanted to watch an old Poirot to compare, but I suppose it wasn't the best one to use seeing as it was a short story. In terms of plotting and execution it's perfectly fine, but I still think that they've out did themselves on the later episodes. Still though, Suchet is exactly how I expected the sleuth to look and act like. Amazing in the part.

Sorority Row.
Good for what it was I suppose. I would recommend watching it if you like cheap slasher flicks
Although its just a Scream rip-off

It's a remake of the slightly superior 1983 film The House on Sorority Row - so hardly a Scream rip-off! In fact, every slasher film is pretty much a rip off of the 1970s classics such as Halloween, Black Christmas and films of the Giallo.

The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo

Loved the books, so I'd been intending to see this for a while. It definitely lived up to my expectations, it was fantastic, there were some stange twists to the story which surprised me but they pulled them off effectively even if I didn't see the point in them.

8.5/10

The Invention of Lying

It's a nice idea. But it's just executed really poorly - the friends Gervais has worked himself into in the US aren't really that funny. Rob Lowe, Tina Fey - I understand they're quite big over there, but are they really that funny? They're hit and miss. At best.

There're a few nice drama moments, and the opening is very funny with all of the blunt truth, but the development and plot are just far too uninteresting.

I watched it the other night and have to say, I thought it was crap!

I kinda liked the take on religion when he has to explain to the people about "the man in the sky" but in general it was fairly poor.

(I adore Ricky Gervais, just think he should stick to what he's good at)

The Last Exorcism - Started off really well I thought but then all good a bit much. Plus was really confused with the ending, left loads of unanswered questions. Ending spoilt it for me.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen - what a load of old sh!t. I thought the first one was hard to get in to because of the amount of chunking metal being thrown about and not enough plot but the sequel sailed down sh!t creek without a paddle. It was everything I disliked about the first one x 10 and then some

if you did not like the first one, why watch the sequel?

and when you go to see a movie based on toys about giant alien robots fighting each other what kind of plot do you envisage it would have?

I was told the sequel was darker which I assumed meant it had more emotional depth as well as being visually darker.

To an extent that's the basic premise of Transformers, I know - metal on metal action but at least in Beast Wars and what I saw of the original Transformers the robots themselves had more character and interacted with each other. Whereas in the films they have hardly any dialogue, Megatron offering camp menace, and Optimus being pushed aside so Shia LaBeouf's character could become the protagonist. I'd rather more emotional charge or thought provoking drama than watch Shia try and bone Megan Fox amidst his parents doing embarassing things and bland scraps of metal fly.

Devil

It was advertised as a film “from the mind of M. Night Shambles”, I therefore went into it thinking it would be utter dog ****e. Thankfully he didn’t get his hands of failure on the script or the director’s job, so this turned out to be a surprisingly enjoyable horror flick with some genuinely chilling moments.

Maybe Shyamalan has finally found something he’s good at - coming up with an interesting premise then staying the eff away, leaving it in the hands of someone capable.
