But its not as though I can just phone in sick if it doesn't come off either, general manager isn't in until 11am so if I don't go in then the shop can't open and I lose my job

I can't believe you want sweets though, I'd be getting her to knock on the old peoples to get £1 a time. I remember when I used to go trick or treating, there was a big group of us and this old woman (must've been about 80 bless her) would give £1 or £2 to each trick or treater. Being about 10 of us we all knocked on seperately. Shameless I know
