Lets not forget that Ben only turned on Mario because of Mario's behaviour towards him, not the other way round.

If I liked the person who was coming onto me and I didn't like them back like that I'd just tell them nicely that I would like to be friends and nothing more, I wouldn't flirt with them the way ben flirted with mario, that's just giving the wrong signals.
