A married Premiership footballer has won a gagging order to stop revelations about his fling with Big Brother beauty Imogen Thomas.

The star has become the latest to take out an injunction to prevent the publication of damaging details about his private life. He has allegedly been conducting a six-month fling with Miss Thomas, who was in the seventh series of the Channel 4 reality show. It is claimed they have been meeting in luxury hotels and friends of Miss Thomas, 28, said the footballer had declared her the love of his life.

A friend of hers eventually blew the whistle on the affair because they were worried the footballer was just using the brunette, according to The Sun.

The revelation comes after a leading actor who allegedly cheated on his wife with the same prostitute who slept with Wayne Rooney obtained a similar injunction.

Miss Thomas yesterday admitted being at the same hotels as the player but insisted she had been with her mother or at 'business meetings'. When asked by The Sun to clarify who she had been meeting, she would only say: 'That's confidential' and refused to comment further.

Poor Imo - she has no luck with men - they use her for a few months then dump her (usually) - she's just too dim to realise what's going on, despite innumerable "flings" with footballers and Russell Brand .....

Philandering footballers on multi-million pound salaries can easily afford expensive lawyers to get them gagging orders.

Over the past year, one serial cheat, who is an international sportsman, won a court order to avoid being exposed for allegedly having affairs with two women.

There is also a millionaire footballer who obtained a ban on the reporting of his ‘sexual liaisons’ with a foreign female sports star.

A high-profile public figure who cheated on his wife was able to hush it up because he claimed it would be ‘very distressing’ for his family if it were made public.

England footballer John Terry was granted a superinjunction when he allegedly cheated on his wife with a team-mate’s former girlfriend, but the claim became public after a judge said he was trying to protect his sponsorship deals rather than his privacy.

In the past two years, privacy injunctions have been granted to seven footballers, ten film or television personalities and five pop stars, among others.

This has effectively created a privacy law, even though one has never been passed by Parliament.

Lawyers and media experts say the rulings which allow stars to keep their identities secret are a victory for the rich and famous who can afford to silence reporting and criticism of their sordid affairs.

But if she were free to go and make a tidy sum of money by selling her story to the tabloids, then to me, she is exactly the same as Rebecca Loos etc.

Difficult one I suppose.. he's a cheating rat and is going to get away with it scot free and she is a ho who willingly sleeps with other women's husbands..

yeah me neither, though I think alot of times those girls know what they're getting themselves into, I reckon it's more to do with getting the lifestyle than "love" with a few exceptions of course!

Aw definitely! It's very very shallow...

I honestly can't think of anything more awful/lonely/humiliating than sitting in a 12 bedroomed house in my jacuzzi, sipping champagne knowing my BF/hubby is out getting laid.. or even worse paying for it!!

Edit: Actually, in hindsight, that doesn't sound too bad..

Marriage isn't a big thing anymore not like it once was anyway and man get bored after a while.. the best way i can put it is it is like buying a new shirt when it gets old and out dated in the bin it goes and of to the shop you go
