I wouldn't be giving Jedward a fraction as much attention, if you lot didn't keep posting your hate mail which seems to be based on.... pretty much nothing!

If you said you don't like their act, or they are vocally talentless or there was something a bit more specific, I could understand it and possibly agree with some of it. But it seems to be just largely puerile name-calling which is, on the face of it, about as immature as Jedward are accused of being.

Which is what has led me to the conclusions I have stated.

OK I may be way off beam about the jealousy thing, but if it is just mindless, blind hatred that's actually even worse. You guys' psyches might make an interesting study.......... where's Nikki Grahame when you need her?

Really sorry but this will be a fairly long post.

There are people in showbusiness I cannot stand at all, I would make a point as to that on an open thread about them,never on a fan club thread for them though.
After making the point once, I would then avoid going into threads on them and making the same insults, criticisms of them which I would know and expect would wind up the people who like them on here.

Naturally with Jedward,their fans, (who are also members on here getting ridiculed and insulted personally themselves by others in much the same way as the anti-Jeds ridicule Jedward too), are then going to respond to that and also make the good points they see as to the twins and their act back,they will also naturally react against the personal insulting and ridicule of themselves as fans of Jedward too.

Some of these ant-Jeds go onto every thread there is as to Jedward, even making threads themselves just to tear them apart and ridicule those who like them too,they even came onto the fan club thread,still spouting their venom at them there'
Thankfully on the fan club thread,they eventually got told to stop and posts got deleted.Others came on with more conciliatory comments so the post would stay in place but on other threads were back to their usual acidic content.

I now feel its impossible to deal with the insulting and ridicule that even we get as members on here just for being great fans of them.
I have been termed in a group as a mindless tween just for being a fan of Jedward,mindless is a pretty awful word to use about anyone who hasn't done anything wrong,also because it is considered that a great many of Jedwards fans are children and young teens then it's disgraceful that people would describe children as mindless just for liking Jedward.

It will go on and on, whenever they are in anything on TV though,I have felt more like I was on a battlefield these last 2 weeks but the sad thing is because I have met them and seen all the really good points,people discard that as if I talk rubbish as to them and only their criticisms of them 'personally' not just 'professionally' are the right ones.

As fans we get it, some people on here hate them,by the same token they should respect that other members on here(there's at least 35 names signed in to their fan club thread),do really like them and I thought,maybe I am wrong, that members should not insult or ridicule or humiliate other members on here just for who or what they like or dislike. As I say maybe I've got that bit wrong.

Once again last night the highlights show dominated by Jedward , 2 minutes of Edward stroking himself while dressed as a woman was ample ,did we really need about half an hour of it? anyone else think he was TOO comfortable dressed like that ?

But as everything is a Vote to Save now, perhaps to confusion that normally reigns when there's a switch from Vote to Evict, for the final, will not apply this time.

Will be interesting to see. But it's really a two-horse race now, methinks. I doubt Paddy is really a runner, but I'm sure he'll be pleased with 3rd.

Awwww c'moooooaaaannnnn....... where's the fun in that!! We're giving the Jedites great reason to offer ongoing profusive reasons for why we should love them.

You never know, all that hard work might pay off and someone might even be converted!

As far as the winning: I would be really surprised if they do. I do think the switch in Vote To Save might throw a spanner in the works though. As you say: bookies have been pretty much on the nose as far as evictions in the past have been concerned, but often, way out as far as the actual winner.

We'll all soon find out soon enough!

The great thing about Paddy is he would be feel honoured to not come last, he has been really funny these last few nights on the highlights.I never expected him to even try the boyband task but he was hilarious in it.

This is the weird thing re Paddy though: I could not stand the man when I've seen him on the Gypsy doc and thereafter in the media: and I didn't expect that to change with his appearance on BB.

Yet for some reason: we are seeing a completely different side to the man -completely. The thing that struck me very early on was; the man who professes never to do any housework etc, proclaiming that's womans work, not for men to do bla bla blah..... right from the start, was the very man who was seen washing piles upon piles of dishes, cleaning up etc.

Now if that didn't come natural to him, or he wasn't comfy doing it: I don't think he's the type that would do it just for the cameras.

Opinions can change....mine certainly did (actually, with him and Darryn too!)

That's not fair to say they "eventually" get deleted from the fan thread, we delete them as soon as we see them or as soon as they are reported, they are very rarely left for longer than a minute or two. But in any other thread it's fair game to discuss a housemate, be that negatively or positively. There are a lot of people on here that don't like Jedward; that's just life I'm afraid, everyone has their favourites mocked, ridiculed or insulted at points in this show. Last year for instance, Dave was one of my favourite housemates and he was loathed on these boards but so what? It's Big Brother, it's just television, it's absurd to get worked up over it. The hate for Jedward might be more prominent than other housemates but that's because their actions will naturally divide opinion.

I really don't see why you think it is a personal thing; it isn't. People make all kinds of sweeping statements regarding all kinds of housemates, there's nothing special about Jedward which should make them immune from criticism or ridicule.

that posts get deleted once seen, my point really was that such comments should not be put on a fan club thread anyway in the first place,or maybe I am wrong on that.

As I said in my post maybe I am wrong too in my assumption that members should not be insulted and ridiculed or humiliated because of who they like or dislike.

I don't get the hate for the twins but I get even less the personal attacks on their fans,,to me,maybe I am wrong again, attacking the celebrity,fine,but then making further ridicule and insult to people who like them,that to me is wrong, because in my view,if someone insults Jedward or any celebrity for that matter, then opens that insult up to an across the board derisory,insulting or ridiculing comment as to their fans, many of whom are members here.I would say I and most would take that at least a bit personally.

In absolute fairness and to bring a sense of understanding MTVN as to why some appear to be perhaps taking it personally...it may well be down to the fact that, despite you having already requested that members shouldn't be insulting fans of housemates quite some posts back, that type of insulting and personal comment still continues.

Whether the juggernaut is successful or not one thing I am glad for and I thank all powers that be that CBB is over tomorrow night becasue I have had enough ridicule and insults to last me a lifetime as to my liking Jedward.

Fair point, I wasnt aware of those comments until you just brought them to my attention. Trouble is there is a fine line between insulting a housemate and in doing so perhaps insulting their fans, and also when it is a sweeping statement such as "Jedward attract strange fans" or something of the like it is a bit of a grey area as to whether that constitutes a personal insult or not

We have a number of Jedward fans on here, most of whom don't seem to feel offended because it's just Big Brother and not something to really get personal about. But yes when a user explicitly insults another member that is against the rules, as is posting negative comments in fan threads, and I can only suggest reporting the posts when it does happen otherwise they can fly under the radar

Comments of the nature which I highlighted here in this thread, are posted with frequency. I report them enough times as we are instructed to do - and receive infractions because when I do, the tibb site jams, it looks as though reports dont go through, you try again not realising that in between the site 'hanging' the alert does actually go through, the system doesn't acknowledge confirm that coz it's still showing as still 'hanging' ... so what happens... you get punished because the tibb server/site is failing, for reporting the very rules breaks that you are advising that should be reported!!! You couldn't make it up if you tried

Maybe now this has been highlighted, it might put an end to it? Here's hoping!

I really don't like jedward, I'm far from a fan - I think that as much as it may have been a bit boring without them, I also think they've ruined what could have been a better show. I'm happy to banter with the Jedites and have a bit of fun - and I hope, without offending or insulting them.
