On Flight 93, the last hijacked plane, the passengers were able to find out about the attacks on the twin towers and the Pentagon through the telephones on board and they all banded together to try and overcome the hijackers. Sadly they were never able to regain control of the plane but through their determined effort they managed to prevent the hijackers from reaching their planned destination, the Capitol building in Washington.

There was 4 planes.

Two crashed into world trade center, one into pentagon and the other crashed in a field after the passengers tried to get control of the plane.

It was heading towards the Capitol building in Washington, where had it not been for the brave attemps of the passengers on board, a lot more people would have died.

Well I think it would have been a similar situation to that of the flight United 93, where it didn't reach it's intended target but crash landed somewhere, still killing all of the passengers on board.

I don't think you hear about this much, but I think its one of the most beautiful things to ever happen. Perhaps beautiful is the wrong word, but the people on board were absolute heroes. I can't imagine how their family feel.

Yes, I think it's less talked about than the twin towers attack. I agree, I think the people on board were so brave to attempt to overcome the hijackers, taking into account that passengers had already been stabbed and the pilot was lying dead, they are all heroes in my eyes. Even when things were looking extremely bad for them, they had knowledge of the previous three attacks so they had an idea of what was going on but they still didn't give up hope. Just remarkable people.

They were true heroes. One of them was Mark Bingham, he was a gay rugby player from California, and his mom started the first ever gay rugby league World Cup in his honour.
So to any homophobe that thinks gay men are weak, Mark stood up to terrorists at 40 thousand feet in the air. SHowed once and for all that gay men are "real" men too!
