Default It's probably in poor taste but here's another dilemma?

If your Mother and Father was both dying of cancer but you found a cure that was enough to only cure one of them, which one would you choose?

Oh good god.

Both my parents have been too heavily involved in my life for me to even make such a drastic decision such as that, the feeling I'd have for the rest of my life that one of my parents died because of 'me' would be too much to bare.

That just doesn't bear thinking about. I don't know how somebody could possibly make that decision. Although I only have one living parent, I would certainly not want to make such a judgement. It would be a painstaking decision, deriving from countless hours of thought, if I was in that situation and had to make that call.

I lost my lovely dad to leukaemia and I was devastated, but I can't imagine how that must feel for you in your circumstance Novo tbh, my dad was 65 and yes he could have had so much longer but he got to be a grandfather so I should count blessings there I guess. Genuine condolences to you there.

In that situation I'd find it impossible to choose.

I could never contemplate a situation like this. To let one parent kick the bucket like that, whilst knowing I could've done something to help them would scar me for life. I would never ever be able to forgive myself.

Think this is too far TBH. The only people it would be a dilemma for are the people who know and are close to both parents. Not really a question most could answer.

But, I'm in the position that my "father" buggered off years ago so i'd 100% choose my mother.

It would be much harder to lose a parent when you are aware about it though.. being 4 i didn't really know what was going on and i can't remember anything from back then even now so in a way i guess i am lucky i don't have any memories from it, being in high School or College would have been worse because it would have been a lot harder to deal with

I get a warning for posting a 'Joker' smiley under a post that got infracted yesterday,

...But tis okay to make a thread asking people which parent they'd rather let die.

Thank you Legend Killer, coming off you is great.

And Patrick I don't agree with you getting infracted for laughing at a post but I don't get why your causing trouble on this thread? if you don't like it then either don't post on it or just say you don't like the thread, but to want me to get infracted for asking a question is just as equally ridiculous as what you've got infracted for.

That is true, I wish my own son had been that little bit younger when my dad passed on. He was 6 and as I worked full time, spent an awful lot of time with his grandad. It hit him hard I can tell you.

I hope in my lifetime the search for a cure for cancer advances massively. Too many peoples lives are touched by it.

I haven't voted in the poll, as its a terrible dilemma, and as said earlier I could never make that choice.
