I think they're making a mistake charging Zimmerman with murder. Like Casey Anthony, they're doing this because of the public pressure. But Zimmerman can claim he acted in self-defense and the prosecution will have to prove that Zimmerman intentionally murdered him when there was no need for him to do so.

The NRA is the most powerful lobby in American politics. The 2nd amendment (the right to bear arms) was from a time when people were worried about government tyranny. That amendment is completely outdated these days.

If the government wanted to kill every single citizen in the country, they could do it with drones whilst the preside flies around in AF1.

The American constitution is an amazing document, but it needs to be updated.

Whether or not he did it. I think the real criminal is the media...on both sides. Because the evidence in this case is so messed up.

Recently in my college sociology class we were talking about how the media influences our decisions and prejudice.

My teacher said that the 911 call has been on two stations, Each one is saying a different thing. One is saying that Trayvon and the other is saying that's George's and not only that they both sound different so it fits their argument.

Also he has seen two versions of the tape of Zimmerman in the police station.
One with the scars and one without the scars.

I'll not be surprised that he's declared innocent or there's a mistrial. But even if he didn't do it, they will have to send his ass off to rot in jail for the rest of his life or risk another LA Riot but this time across the whole country.

That's just simply insane, and has no foundation in either facts or history. No other modern populations have ever really been armed, and the NRA isn't about preventing tyranny. The clip involved in the Gabby Gifford shooting proves that. The law that Zimmerman is trying to hide behind is an NRA/Jeb Bush special.

American politicians can question Israel, but name one that recently spoke out against the NRA. Not since the Gore election has anyone dared.

George Zimmerman, the Florida neighbourhood watchman accused over the death of unarmed black teenager Trayvon Martin, has appeared in court.

During the brief hearing, a date of 29 May was set for a formal reading of the charges and a bail hearing.

Mr Zimmerman, 28, who turned himself in on Wednesday to face a charge of second-degree murder, stood up straight and wore a grey prison jumpsuit.

Mr Zimmerman has spent his first night in jail 45 days after shooting the teenager in a quiet gated community in the Orlando suburb of Sanford.

Mr Zimmerman's lawyer, Mark O'Mara, did not seek bail for his client during the brief hearing, as expected.

He told reporters outside the court afterwards he had decided not to ask for a bond because "it might only arouse the fervour" around the case.

The attorney said earlier that his client would plead not guilty.

Politicians won't directly speak out against the NRA. To do so would be to alienate a segment of the population some of whom may be willing to vote for you. But they will act against the 2nd amendment. Google "operation fast and furious".

The Jewish Lobby, the military industrial complex, and international bankers is the 3 headed snake that must be dealt with.

The whole thing is now a circus.

Basically this is like a rape case. How many rapists are set free everyday? millions, why? because it's just a "he said/she said" scenario. and in this case there's not even a "she said" side to say anything because he's dead. The only witness is Zimmerman.

It's basically impossible to prove anything without any witnesses.

The man accused of murder over the death of an unarmed Florida teenager has been granted bail, set at $150,000 (Ł93,000).

George Zimmerman's defence lawyer asked that his client be allowed to reside out of state because of safety fears.

Granting bail, the judge said Mr Zimmerman should inform the police of his location every three days and imposed a curfew between the hours of 19:00 and 06:00 each day.

Mr Zimmerman would be tracked electronically, he said, and would be forbidden from carrying firearms, drinking alcohol, or contacting the victim's family personally or through an intermediary.

Prosecutors asked Mr Zimmerman's wife, Shellie, about a 2005 incident when Mr Zimmerman was arrested for assaulting a police officer, and an anger management course he was required to take.

On Thursday (12th), Mr Zimmerman spent the evening in jail, after being arrested late Wednesday (11th), according to his booking report. It had been 45 days since he shot the teenager in a quiet gated community in the Orlando suburb of Sanford.

Mr O'Mara expects a bail hearing for Mr Zimmerman on 20 April.

During the hearing Mr O'Mara surprised onlookers by not seeking bail for his client.

He told reporters outside the court afterwards he had decided not to ask for a bond because "it might only arouse the fervour" around the case

Travyon Martin, the unarmed teenager killed by George Zimmerman in Florida, reportedly had injuries to his knuckles when he died.

The claims in US media emerged after a post-mortem examination and could support Zimmerman's allegations that Trayvon attacked him before the 28-year-old shot him dead.

The medical examiner found two injuries on the 17-year-old's body: the fatal gunshot wound and broken skin on his knuckles, according to WFTV.

Neighbourhood watch volunteer Zimmerman has been charged with second-degree murder and is now awaiting trial after being released on bail last month.

Legal expert Bill Sheaffer said the reported post-mortem findings were better for the defence than the prosecution.

He said: "It goes along with Zimmerman's story that he acted in self-defence, because he was getting beaten up by Trayvon Martin."

But Mr Sheaffer warned there could be another explanation for Trayvon's knuckle injuries.

"It could be consistent with Trayvon either trying to get away or defend himself," he told WFTV.

before checking if they are armed.
