Just reading your post reminded me of this Glenn...

Years ago one of my sisters went to the swimming baths with her friend and let her friend use her hairbrush because she had forgot to bring hers, anyway...when she got home my mum told her she shouldn't let anyone use her hairbrush in case they have nits and this must have stuck in her mind because my parents heard noises coming from the back room of the kitchen that night and when they got up my sister was sleepwalking and had put her hairbrushes, hairbands and pillow covers into the washing machine.

I was sharing a room with my grandad and I scared the crap out of him. He said I started screaming then fell out of bed, then run out of the room. Still screaming.

Yeah, I have the absolute misfortune of suffering anxiety-related issues, so obviously get moments of intense fear and panic. It's really weird how sometimes they pop out of the blue and there seems to be no obvious trigger.

I've learned to deal with them over the years, though, so I can usually get myself back to normal again. Breathing exercises really help.

I think they are meaningless thoughts that mix together things in your subconscious from things you've done, seen are worried, excited about etc. They are also massively influenced by the types of food/drink you take in. I very rarely have dreams that I remember, a week or so ago I had indian food a few hours before I went to bed and had the weirdest night of dreams I can remember.

I liken dreams to being your hard drive defragging.

..sometimes the 'trigger' for things isn't a conscious one, but a sub-conscious one so it's not always obvious or explainable...but I'm glad you've learned to 'control' them as much as you can and breathing..(obviously lol..) does help as well....

I think that dreams are a metaphor for what's gonna happen in the future, I don't know if I'm sounding crazy but that's what I think as I still remember a dream where me, one of my Uncles, my parents, and my Brother was all in one of the bedrooms and there was food on the bed with the writing saying "Bomb" on the bed and then the next day my Uncle told my Mom that his Son had a Cyst on his head since he was 2 years old.

And I think that dream might have said that some bad news was gonna be delivered to the family, or hopefully I'm crazy and that's not the case.

To explain the story better the incompetent NHS didn't know about it until recently.
