Evening all.. I've had quite a few messages asking how things are going so just thought I'd give y'all an update...
I think I already said somewhere that Samuel went into remission after his first block of chemo.. This was apparently classed as "morphological remission" which meant that under the microscope, his bone marrow was clear.. However, after the second block, they did further, more sensitive tests, and without getting too technical, they can still detect a very small amount of leukemia cells lurking about somewhere. He has just finished his 3rd block of chemo which was very intensive to target these cells that are still in his body.
We're hoping and praying that the tests at the end if this will show more positive results otherwise we might be going down the bone marrow transplant avenue.. My daughter has been tested to see if she's a match but we're still waiting for the results of that.
Again, without getting too far into it, the type of gene mutation he has to have caused the leukaemia apparently responds well to the type of chemo he's just had, so please everybody keep your fingers crossed for some positive news in the next few weeks!
We're still managing to stay positive and keeping each other strong, but I have to admit we're both scared ****less at times.
Samuel himself is just being a wee trooper.. He never complains, and has become a minecraft genius!
Thanks to everybody who has asked about him
