Actually, the doctor was in the wrong. By sharing the fact you had an injury, she is opening the door to questions such as, how did you hurt your leg, what where you doing, why were you doing that etc by the other person(s) Also, if shared with him, who else has she shared it with, a well meaning manufacturer of knee supports etc ... its a slippery slope. A patients details are either confidential, or they are not, and a doctor should know better.
As to the hugging, like was said, unless a close personal friend, in which case she shouldn't be your doctor, it is completely inappropriate. |
