I've seen time and time again on this forum hideous defamation of a housemate for their looks or their occupation does that not come under the umbrella for consideration as a confidence/esteem affecting slight?
the nasty comments aimed towards older hms or those who have had surgery these too may have issues and yet there are countless threads and derogatory comments made about them.
The reason that comments about Jack are seized upon is becouse he is an 'everyday person' someone who is considered 'normal' lovely grumbly chubby jack is just like lots of teens we know.... should that exempt him from criticism should we all redirect our ire to the damaged goods like harry maybe?
Helen can and does say what she likes, as does joel if you've noticed with his little monologues on immorality, they are no less cutting only the delivery is different. When people say hurtful things if you sugar the pill it's still poison, I know this.
