but seriously if the government invested a few billion into building more hydrogen filling stations, leasing these cars as you said.. it would end our reliance on oil from the middleeast, and also do a lot for tackling climate change.

Again... we import only a fraction of our oil from the Middle East. Also production of hydrogen is not carbon-neutral.

Also, hydrogen is extremely dangerous, i would want to see a lot more safety checks and a guarantee that idiots wouldn't abuse it - which will never happen

There's nothing wrong with it, the benefits of cleaner cars with better fuel economy would be enough I would've thought?

I would have thought there were many things in the mid 1930s that were not as well developed.

Yeah, we know everything now. No more mistakes left to make...
If they're going to make their cars appeal to the petrol-heads amongst up, offering a "green" car isn't enough. It's got to look good and it's got to perform. That car in the first post is ugly. More than that, it's fugly. |

We don't know everything no... And not one person suggested we did.
Petrol heads, will one day be in the past. Progression is scary for some and many automatically poo poo anything new as it goes against the norm. It's happened with wind and solar power for homes, some just don't wish to be as reliant on fossil fuels and this will maybe cater for them?
