​Lily Allen is not pleased with James Bay implying she's forgettable, and unleashed her wrath by directly comparing him to a bay leaf.

Some background: Bay was asked for his thoughts on Allen's criticism of the Brit Awards and responded by asking when she last released something, saying he can't remember her last album.

The Sheezus singer has now accused him of avoiding the real issue, writing on Twitter: "A fellow named James Bay dodged a question about lack of diversity at the Brits has apparently labeled me entirely forgettable​

"I must admit if not heard of him until I saw my feed this morning, I have now listened to some of his music and seen his hat.​

"he shares a name with the most standard, basic and least flavorsome herb, which I found both fitting and amusing."

Amazing.

So far Bay hasn't defended either himself or the integrity of the bay leaf as an ingredient.

The singer-songwriter is up for four Brit Awards this year and will also perform at the ceremony on Wednesday (February 24).
