it's a case of overzealous policing that won't make it to prosecution because it isn't really hate speech.
Hate speech convictions should be reserved for people who endorse and preach violence againsts groups of people. It shouldn't be used to punish views we find difficult to stomach because society will do that anyway. He'll lose his job, will probably find it difficult to find specialised work for years to come and it's going to have an effect on his relationships with other people, Society will punish him enough.
This man's ruined his life and he deserves it but it's not a police matter.
