I dont think that they would be any good in rain or in the winter months so that is not a good choice and could lead to foot problems and maladies? An all round leather shoe would be best of both worlds I think?

I am sorry but they would soak through in minutes and you would get chilblains and all sorts. They are at best suitable for a summer holiday in mainland Europe but you could still encounter torrential rain and again your feet would be soaking? To me they looks like the type of shoes that staff in an medical institution would wear or a care home, that is not a insult but rather what they look like to me on my lapptop as I type?
