Dermot O'Leary returns with the long-running talent contest, which is now entering its 14th year. As ever, would-be pop icons from all walks of life queue down the street for a moment in the spotlight as the auditions process begins, but it remains to be seen whether the contestant who will ultimately replace last year's winner Matt Terry as champion will be among the first acts to present themselves to the panel. Louis Walsh, Nicole Scherzinger and Sharon Osbourne all return to take their places at the judges' desk, alongside ever-present X Factor supremo Simon Cowell
