9. Clay Honeycutt ![]() (what does this even mean?) Clay is probably the biggest surprise of the season for me actually. Like everybody knows I'm not a fan of the straight white male archetype when it comes to Big Brother ( Clay's major storyline in the house pretty much consisted of being one half of power couple Clelli but unlike your usual showmances which are either excruciatingly dull or highly obnoxious - Clelli were neither. I actually grew to like Clelli in the end, despite them picking off two of my early favourites. I admired the fact that Clay fell on the sword for Shelli when they were up against each other and in doing so meant that Shelli made it to jury because he was bascially Shelli's beta and Shelli was by far the superior half of the duo and if you think about it, she basically carried him in the game anyway with her two HoH reigns so the least he could do was give up his place for her when they were both pitted against each other and he did so I thank for him that. <33 Another thing I liked about Clay was his frenemy relationship with Audrey, which was mostly concealed from the main show (I really don't know why) until I stumbled across a 15-minute clip of their funny moments on YT which put a lot of things into perspective but it was also really sweet and endearing at the same time. Their feud during the week Audrey was evicted had me in stitches and we even got this as a result: Quote:
![]() ![]() ![]() However, Clay does have his flaws hence why he's widely disliked on here (ofc he is it's TiBB lmao) but I can see why people would dislike him tbf. He's pretty much responsible for orchestrating the demise of Da'Vonne when she clocked and shut him down into a stuttering mess. Anyway outside of the whole Da'Vonne feud (which was really entertaining and he played a part in it even if it was for all the wrong reasons but I still low-key appreciate that) he was generally self-entitled and quite smug for someone who didn't even win HoH once (ik comps aren't everything but when you're trying to dictate who Shelli should target during her two HoH reigns - if anything, Shelli should be the one telling him what to do). He was also a dick towards James after he got nominated. I've also heard that he apparently made some racist comments in the house or something? but tbh if I was going to judge all BBUS HGs as human beings then I'd pretty much hate almost all of them so there's no point in getting worked up over some problematic comments on a show like BBUS (unless it's BB15 ofc). But overall, he was a major contributing factor as to why the pre-jury weeks of this season were so fun whether you like him or not and he wasn't all that unlikable for someone of his archetype and he had a pretty satisfying story-arc I thought. Plus that montage of him mumbling never fails to amuse me. Last edited by Jason.; 22-08-2016 at 10:15 PM. |

This is righteous thus far (even though Grandma Meg is two or three places too low, I fully understand and shall not hound you for it for the remainder of time)
And I wouldn't say that Clay's widely disliked on here - I appreciate him for his role in #clelli and for not being as **** as he easily could have been, as you mentioned Last edited by MB.; 22-08-2016 at 10:19 PM. |

![]() He just seems the type of person TiBB would hate and tbf I would probably like him a lot less if he was on BBUK |

One of the reasons that I love BB17 is that even the people who aren't that good (Austin, Steve, Jeff, Clay) really do play their parts well and you can find some merit in all of them.
and now that I mentioned Jeff Weldon and am thinking about him for the first time in a few months, oh my god what a ****ing loon. The edit really did him no justice, he almost matched Audrey in terms of insane Week 1 scheming, all cloaked under how upset he was that Austin said he had a dad bod ![]() ![]()

8. James Huling ![]() James is my favourite male of the season (a mess at all the males being culled in the bottom half tho but BB17's female cast is amazing so I can't take all the blame). But no James was just a really nice guy and I enjoyed his friendship with Meg a lot. However one thing I liked the most was making a big move in the nomination of Clelli and even though I liked them both, I just really admired that and it shook things up a lot and he's the reason why Week 6 is not only my favourite week of the season but also a brilliant week in general. James was also one of the few HG's who was in the opposing alliance of the Sixth Sense which is what the season really needed once jury kicked in and it helped make an interesting power shift and the dynamics more interesting having two alliances competing against each other. I also liked how he was never bitter about being up on the block like a lot of the HG's were and he just had a really good attitude in general. I'm glad he won America's Favourite. Overall he was just a fun presence with a good personality and some good allies in Jackie, Meg and Becky. And his constant pranks played a big part as it's mostly what he was shown doing on the main show but him scaring the Twins every night by simply popping his head by their bedside in the dark causing them to run out of the bedroom in hysterics of fear <33 |

Nice to see I wasn't the only one who liked Clay and found him underrated.
