The charges he faces relate to six victims, and two of the charges – wounding with intent and attempted grievous bodily harm – relate to a child.

…just a really, really sad story/incident and now it’s for piecing it all together as to how this could have ever happened…maybe life changing with some of the physical injuries and also life changing on many levels and in many ways for many people ….

There are alot of unanswered questions here, was the road he was initially driving down open or closed, why was he allowed to follow the ambulance, there appear to be numerous police around who bundled him from his car to safety but none of them appear to have intervened before that, it all happened very quickly but a car on a closed road should have sent red flags surely

It sounds to me like the road wasn't closed and that was when the attacks on the car started. He then followed an ambulance through a roadblock into the closed section of the road

I might be wrong though

They are my thoughts as well, and I wonder if he followed the ambulance for safety because at this point his rear window was smashed in

I don't really understand why everyone is saying he doesn't look like a bloke in his 50's. He does. 53 ain't elderly you'll be happy to hear LT. Things go south at about 60 though .

Expect LT is comparing it to the Southport attack when the pictures released were all of him as a schoolboy

That is 100%,
because the very brief Police
kept going live on TV and Radio News

Never taking questions

Smacks of police failures, I hope he has a good lawyer because I think all of this was caused by panic on both sides

There was a feeling that he was terrified by some fans who started trying to wreck his car as he drove slowly past and it spooked him into driving recklessly into the crowd BUT the prosecution look to be class it was done with intent ..

I am not supporting his actions in anyway, but have thought that the guy may have been scared shitless by fans kicking the car and trying to smash the windows, sheer panic may have made him think erratically, those fans probably would have badly injured him or worse.I do recall a story about two soldiers that were pulled out their car and killed by a baying mob.Its just a thought, its very sad what happened and I'm not condoning it,he maybe should have just left his car,IF of course it wasn't done on purpose,if it was he deserves the full force of the law .

The police failed to mention that he was actually dragged from the car and given a few punches b4 the police intervened...you see this in the clip that shows the police standing aimlessly by as the car is set upon once it stops.

At the end of the day though, while the vigilante "justice" shouldn't have happened, that part isn't really relevant to the charges against him... he shouldn't have been there at all... just by being there at all (if he followed an ambulance he blatantly knew he wasn't meant to be driving there) he was driving recklessly whether he was drunk or high or not and regardless of what happened in the aftermath. The charges are more than deserved.

All I'd add is that if they can identify any of the people punching/kicking/attacking the car, ESPECIALLY before it ended up ploughing into more people, all of those people should also be arrested and charged because their actions contributed to the outcome and they share some responsibility.

As do the organisers, IMO, at the very least there should be resignations of those responsible for crowd safety. Mistakes were made no matter how you cut it.

I would add that if the street he was originally driving on was open to cars, that he probably followed the ambulance and was perhaps not aware it was closed off, at the very least there must have been someone at the barrier, and he was driving slowly as people were taking pictures yet no police person ran towards him, we are always told they run towards danger yet no one appears to have even noticed him driving and honking his horn, its pretty much a **** show

Checks time...

Yea TS, all of that is blatantly obvious. Yet the police brought out a timeline of events. They just missed that bit out. I think it's relevant, and it shows the actions he will claim he was fleeing from.
