I may be wrong, but 'something in the back of my jaded memory' thinks it the 'e' may be an Americanism? Not too sure.

Scots refer to it without the 'E'. (or rather..... they should).

Yeah Pyr Los Americanos often use the 'e' but its not their fault. Think Bushmills.

Scottish whisky or Irish Whiskey.

According to Wiki (thats whisky without the h and s)

Whiskey or whisky is an anglicization of a Goidelic name (Irish: uisce beatha and Scottish Gaelic: uisge beatha) literally meaning "water of life". Earlier anglicizations include usquebaugh, usquebea (1706) and iskie bae (1583).

First written records of its production actually come from Ireland, so maybe they have the right to insist on it being spelled with an 'e'.

I am personally crazy for Scotland, I love the people and all over the place. I love the Glen Coe region and Fort William,Lochaber region. So many places in Scotland to go though depending what you are looking for, I just love the peace of it all.

Everyone is different though and it depends what you are looking for, wherever in the UK you decide to go, hope you really enjoy yourself.

Yep, it's just like being in a totally different place even though you're on the same Island. Hmmmm, might suggest Scotland again

Cornwall is a nice place! I know I'm slightly biased because I live here but, depending on the weather, it's great if you want to get away and have a weekend in peace.

It's lovely down at St Ives. I like Mevagissey too and Fowey. Quite a few of the towns have also been done up. St Austell has a brand new shopping plaza. It can get boring living here but I imagine if you are from a city, Cornwlal is a really nice and refreshing place to visit

Fowey is gorg....as is Mevagissey too. St Austell...mmmm...... not so sure.

Mousehole, and Marazion (sp?) are lovely places too..... spent a week in a fab self catering across from St Michaels mount a few summers ago, weather was to die for.

Chapel Porth and the beaches in that area are on par with any other spectaular beaches in the Caribbean.

The difference is: you at least don't have the very blinkered view that you should make demands upon your family/parents, neither do you speak of them as though they as cash cows - there to meet your every whim and if they don't ...... you don't speak about them in such a disresectful or ignorant manner.

I'd say you were far richer...all things considered.

Cool. Beaches in Brighton are well good. I love London, though. Whatever you do, don't visit Manc expecting a holiday. It's a good city, like, but, as a holiday destination, not bloody worth it.
