I think they used 'yanks' in this case because to some the twins and Michael were not likable and so they grouped them both together in the only way they could, their nationality... I do know that it exists, but not so greatly towards BB.

The posters on here and DS are in no way an accurate portrayal of the general public. What a silly thing to suggest. The result tonight proved that more than anything.

Yes, there are many xenophobic Britons, just as there are many xenophobic people in all the other countries of the world. But to talk of it as though it's become some epidemic or serious issue is ridiculous.
Not to mention this is a tiny unimportant reality show anyway, who cares who wins. Does it matter? They all get their varied paychecks at the end anyway.

I have nothing against Americans at all, my favourite tv shows are American etc. But, bar Jermaine and Latoya I've not liked a single American BB housemate. So, maybe BB should get some different American people rather than the same playboy bimbos and plastic has-beens.

No these comments were there after Day 1 when nobody could have formed an overall opinion on the housemates yet, people automatically hated them because of their nationality. They could have been brilliant housemates but the xenophobes would still hate them because of where they were born. I didn't think it was apparent so much in BB myself until the last couple of days. It's sad.
