I don't use DS and never will (), however they must have been bombarded with lots of negative feedback from pissed off people that they are making some members pay to join and changed this rule to have a positive affect instead and attract more members?

Positive PR from a business sense from their point of view too and on a marketing aspect.

DS wans't so bad a few years back now. It started to degrade in my opinion when the original owners sold it to some mag owners, that to me was when differences were noticable. That might also be when the pay to join started?

And without looking back through posts in the thread, someone mentioned about older members getting better treatment on there, I don't believe that to be true. I was a member from October 2002, and after the takeover there just noticed things seemed to get steadily worse for many members no matter how long they had been a member. I chose to have my account there closed a couple or more years back now, and joined here instead. I have settled into the Tibbs way of life now, and much prefer it it to DS.

I lurk on DS and have noticed they have banned long term members if they feel they have stepped out of line or have even been harsh on new members if they have been around trolling.

Tbh I only lurk because they have good information about lots of stuff, it makes me sound like a hypocrite because I don't even like some things about their site.

You are not a hypocrite. I still lurk just to read stuff, and see how many and how much opinions differ from on here. I had many DS friends whose posts I still like to read. I miss posting on MrMustards 'Is Poetry a dead art' thread though. Also I think there is a draw to read stuff, a bit like car crash tv, or watching B movies, you just can't help yourself

Their grudge is scary. Some people on the BB section waste all of their negative energy and keep bitching about her, they obviously have nothing else to do with their time LOL.

I normally forget about most BB people once their series is over apart from when we chat about previous series.
