Senior Moment
|
I was on holiday, in a caravan in Bournmouth, just watching the TV when the news came on.

I think its also down to the fact that really, 7/7 didn't affect day to day life in the UK, whereas 9/11 affected day to day life in the whole world.

It wasn't really publicised here much at all, so I have never really thought about it much.

Just remember walking down the school corridor when someone said "apparently a bomb went off in London today" or something like that, didn't really grasp the seriousness of it then and was just blaming the French for doing it because we'd been given the Olympics over them the day before

Too glam to give a damn

I remember being 8/9 and my class being told by our teacher.
Somebody in the other class lost their uncle due to the bombing. It's such a shame because they used to live in my street and they were a really nice family. |

I was 7 at the tine, and I remember getting to leave school early and going round to my nans house and just watching it on the TV. I was really shocked and worried, because my aunt was living in London at the time.

Flag shagger.

My husband - not my husband at the time - was serving in Iraq and called me to make sure I was okay. It was the first I'd heard about it. It seemed strange, him worrying about me.

7/7 i was in majorca and it was on tv there the engliish speaking channels i mean and I was kinda worried then I found out someone on my grans street their wife had died on the bus bombing
9/11 I wasnt really sure as I was only nearly 14 at the time but was more worried about my gran and aunty as they were going to florida that day. They had to land in canada. greg maybe your thinking about the attempted bombings 2 weeks later the same thing 3 tubes and a bus but nobody was killed there

Same as some of you I can't really remember that much about it or where I was etc.
Must have been away from news channels/news outlets on holiday or something.. I don't think the news grasped what had actually exactly happened at first looking back did it? Whereas with 9/11 it was pretty evident straight away what had happened Last edited by King Gizzard; 16-01-2014 at 07:04 PM. |

I can't remember I think I was at school and when I got back home it was strange because my mom and dad were both sitting down watching the TV and they didn't speak to me till I got in the room, then they told me
I can't remember that much tbh |

I was in work and one of our temps rang to say she wasn't going in as she was watching the news! I thought it was a pretty lame reason for not going in to work and told her that but she had family in Central London so told me about the bombings then...

Must've just started secondary at the time or something but I do remember it being rather horrific.
