I love the advert, what a sweet and giving portrayed child. The advert is of course about money just like the Coca Cola ads are, but aren't they all. But it also has thought and a message put into it. Christmas is a happy and sad time of year, we should embrace it if we want to but not forget those in need and who are lonely also. I think the advert embraces that quite well.

I'm really underwhelmed also. I've loved most of their Xmas adverts and the last two years especially the bear and the hare which may be my favoruite advert ever. I think this ones pretty boring and it doesn't particularly feel like a Christmas advert

I might be reading too much into it, but for some elderly they may as well be on the moon for all the attention their families give them..i.e isolated. And if Arista has his way they will actually be on the moon :

The advert is raising awareness for Age UK (charity for lonely elders) with the tagline "show someone they're loved this Christmas" so yeah this is pretty much obvious.
