Yes I think they are defensive but like you say there are worse in there. I do suspect a lot of that defensiveness may have been because of james j, now hes gone i will be interested to see if they change.

Exactly this! They were very targeted and had lots of votes so obviously wanted to defend themselves - especially as most of it wasn't particularly nice or even true.

I don't think they do! I think they take themselves very seriously! Yes, of course they are a naff act, but they got into it very young and their world, especially being close twins, is very different to most of ours.

They remind me of the Father Ted Eurovision episode where they're writing the 'My Lovely Horse' song going 'well the lyrics are fine, there's no problem there...' They think they're great because they interpret record sales/albums/fans as meaning they're great. The fact the average age of their fan is probably 8 is neither here nor there as far as they're concerned lol!

They're not supposed to argue back against every nomination and they themselves would probably then get wound up if the person that they were nominating started arguing back against them. Everyone has to pick someone and everyone has to give a reason, it's part of the game that you just have to accept not kick up a fuss throughout the whole process banging on about what you do to help old people, no one gives a ****

I think they're sensitive more than defensive... they really take it to heart and I actually think the negativity of this year's house is really getting to them, which makes me sad . The first year they were in was a much more lighthearted house.

Personally I dont think they know themselves what they are doing. They are winging it and trying to win by being nice but you can see in spencers eyes he is bustin to go off on one but with who, all his nemesis are dangerous and he is frightened.

Totally agree, even James J last night, said they took 3 hours to do noms because of Jedward. They are not doing it deliberately for effect, they just cant help themselves because for many years people have been applauding them for being petulant children. Now they are adults, they seem to have a sense of entitlement that hinges on sub normal levels of intelligence.
