She was attempting to embarrass/belittle him, as he was dying his hair brown to cover the red tint.

I was auburn up until about a year and a half ago. I was so close to dying it and then people were like 'why aren't you ginger anymore did you dye it' and I was like '1) I didn't even realise and 2) it's auburn not ginger'. Since then it's been naturally starting to go brown.

I like the colour.

But I know how self-conscious having red hair can make people, my younger brother has been dying his hair dark brown since he was thirteen!

I knew straight away Hannah was trying to make him uncomfortable, maybe I should have started a thread bashing her, eh? (Not my style though.)

Perhaps he should have said "Hannah please could I have five minutes to dye my hair, because as a male we tend to get judged for these type of things and I feel embarrassed having you right there gawking at me..."
