Actually I was just scrolling down twitter and came across this and thought, that will get them talking on Tibb, I think I'll post this.

He's a sleaze bag. That's undeniable... and it must be harrowing for those women who believed they were going to a "private party" and ended up having to hump the world's ugliest Jew... I do want to say though, that the casting couch has been a "joke" since cinema began. Everyone knows about it... how naive do you have to be to allow yourself to be alone with a man who is well-known... for years!... to want sexual favours in return. People have been making jokes about it for years! And what about all the women that suited? The women that thought it was a fair price for fame? And what about the women who told their story, then were paid off by Weinstein? Doesn't that weaken their claim? They took the money rather than see him face justice? He was enabled for years, by men and women.

I'm opening myself up to a slew of "victim blaming" replies. However, I acknowledge that there are real victims caught up in this. But they are not all victims. In my opinion.

Whether they took money or not, of course they're victims.

But I do agree to an extent. Especially in regards to Rose McGowan who has had her fair share of mud slinging at people like Meryl Streep who she claims "must" have known. But in calling out other women and shifting blame point blank refused to take responsibility for her own complicity in these abuses continuing.

That's not blaming her for anyone he assaulted after her nor is it suggesting it would be easy for her to speak up at the time. But the fact she took the payout. I feel kind of guilty for mentioning it because the truth it I can't imagine what she must have gone through, however she is one example tbf.

They all took money, how do some remain victims and others not, is it only based on the assumption that some saw it as the status quo in the industry? They do not deserve to be victims as they are naive enough to believe that, and ultimately they were as exploited as the rest.

That's a good point.
A lot of stars end up in that world through being groomed at a young age with the promise of money and fame when they're no more than young kids trying to find their way in life. They're spotted by agencies who make outrageous promises and before they know it they're in murky circles, have addictions, have been raped and become trapped in the machine.
