No, and the idea that one party is better than the other is utter bollox
Governments are plate spinners that spin a load of plates and when after a while there have been so many breaks another government gets voted in and they start spinning plates and the cycle continues. |

i don't feel we can view nhs staff pay reviews in the same way as we would previously have done after the year we have had.
I do feel that they should be rewarded. They put their lives on the line. Something that wasn't conceivable 2 years ago. The problem the government has is that it is such a huge organisation, a small increase equates to a mountain of cash. |

The Tories have treated the NHS and it's workers with utter contempt masquerading as cheap gratitude. 'Yes, we'll clap for you but don't expect any real rewards for your herculean efforts. You've died for us, you've risked your mental health, you've sacrificed, but here's some people banging pots and pans on their door step. That's better than a pay rise, yeah?'

Johnson is currently selling off the NHS in private, with 49 GP surgeries currently owned by US health insurance companies. There won't be an NHS left within 20 years. I used t think the GBP would revolt if ever this happened, but as long as the gov says they have to do it to stop (insert group of people) taking advantage, then we'll fall straight into it. That doesn't mean that anyone cheering them on will be exempt from receiving the same service as the rest of us, either.
Money for nukes and new yachts, but not the people that prop up the country.

I'm sure there are a lot of nurses who are completely demoralised, exhausted and just plain disillusioned after the pandemic. They didn't get into nursing for the good pay and conditions as there hasn't been a time in my memory when it was a lucrative career. However, they had holidays cancelled, worked back to back 12+ hour shifts and are bound to have been exhausted and stressed by it all. They have seen so many die to this disease and risked their own health to keep working that many who joined the health service to care for people may have reached their limits and come across as uncaring and stroppy. I'm sure there are some who are.perpetually like that, like there are in every walk of life. When my mum was dying (well before covid), every nurse I encountered during her hospital and then hospice care were fantastic. Maybe we were just lucky, but the care she received from the nurses was fantastic. The doctors were another story.

Has the travel agent who owns her own business had financial assistance from the gov to the tune of thousands? Yes. I work for a small business and I know the amount of financial assistance that we have been able to claim, whilst sat healthy and safe (and bored) in our own homes.

What is the average salary for a Nurse?
The Royal College of Nursing have estimated that the average annual salary of an NHS Nurse is £33,384. More broadly, we estimate that the average salary for a Nurse is somewhere between £33,000 and £35,000.That takes into account the average amount of experience of a UK Nurse, and data collected on major job boards. https://www.nurses.co.uk/nursing/blo...he-uk-in-2021/ |

if people want better paid nhs, then either we need to cut down on the number of staff or increase what we the tax payer contribute toward it. Given the state the economy is in at the moment, i don't see tax rises happening right now for that (although im sure they will be along soon)

Honestly, this thread really demonstrates how people will allow the NHS to perish. A nurse does something that reflects poorly on the tories and then 'Well, I had a nurse who was terrible to me once, they work back to back long ass shifts and are probably more stressed out than ever before in their lives but they didn't put on a song and dance when I wanted them to so they're ****!'
