Yeah same here. Jenny in particular has been nasty to her for no apparent reason, turned me right off her and she was my favourite. Emily has had the most difficult journey in there in actual fact, being kicked out the first night and then trying to integrate but no one was willing to let her in. Horrible

It was tongue in cheek, he said it with a smile on his face. She held it against him to such an extent she was happily sitting with him in the hot tub last night, alongside Cameron and Tate, on the feed and, later, seemingly chatting away with Tate whilst in bed.

People take what's going on in there too seriously. And it is sad to see Emily upset; unfortunately I have the feeling the producers have the result they want. But there's a balance as well. Emily came in, bouncing around, calling for energy energy energy when the rest had been drained by the house for three weeks. It was tone deaf and always going to rub some up the wrong way. In general, she seemed to have incorporated herself well and also been accepted by the housemates. When something like this comes up, someone who arrived in the manner she did is always going to paint a target for themselves.

…I don’t agree that it was said tongue in cheek, I think that it was said recklessly because Emily’s feelings when ‘targeting’ her in any negative way/in attaching any negative label, such as ‘jarring’…aren't considered in the same equal way as other feelings are…she isn’t considered to be a full housemate in the same way because she’s had time outside of the house …and also probably because she’s tried to inject some more upbeat energy and positivity into a house filled with many people who have found ‘their groove’ and stayed within it and within their own little routines and roles etc…it’s been said before by Caroline that some don’t even show any willingness and enthusiasm for tasks…it’s been a really very lethargic house this season…(…imo…)…Caroline tried to change that……but well, we saw how that went…Emily isn’t a Caroline but she has been a jolly edition and very smiley and enthusiastic and eager to create bonds but they’ve just been no, sorry…there is no room at the Inn..especially some of the guys and yeah…I can imagine that Emily was still sitting in the hot tub with them because she’s so desperately trying to be liked and to fit into a group/she really likes Marcus and Tate, I think …and seeks their approval, if we like…but they give her very little and can be very cruel…

Yes, the groups weren't fully formed by that point. I sometimes forget now that Cameron B, Feyisola and Richard weren't originals. I always seem to remember George wasn't though.

Tate immediately calculated how Emily would get her letter and Marcus bought it for her at the expense of his own so she's not really being ostracised. I get how it can feel like that (and her crying in the sneak peak was tough to watch) but my belief is the edit is making it look worse than it is. Plus pointless stirring games like these can bring it to the surface. I think the other issue is, up until now, Emily has taken it all with a stiff upper lift so they may see her an easier target in that regard too, compared to say Elsa or Jenny, who have worn their emotions on their sleeves.

…do you not think…that we might feel the edit makes certain emotions/moments look worse than they are when we like a housemate for instance and want to feel the best of them also, I’m saying that in good faith because I’ve wanted to feel the best of Jenny in her intentions toward Emily but it’s now become impossible…and I do see that Marcus and Tate have dismissed her feelings also, which has all built to how she’s feeling now that she can’t find ‘her fit’…of course, that’s easy for me to say and think because I’ve struggled to be a fan/supporter of Marcus or Tate so I have no ‘neutrality’…either……

Firstly when BB say the beef is back, would have helped had they shown us the original beef at the time. Another example of piss poor editing this season.

Secondly, of course Emily was going to get the most red balls. The rest are a group and so she’s an easy target. BB knew that and clearly want her up.

I really think this has been engineered to save Marcus from eviction, as BB seem to be grasping at the weak showmance as there’s literally nothing else going on.

Definitely. I'd argue Marcus and Tate both had her feelings in mind when working out the letter, and she seems comfortable in their presence more than Elsa, Jenny and Teja, so I'm not thinking things are as bad as they seem. I'm also thinking/hoping they soft-soaped their excuses in the challenge as they all seemed fine on the feed later but could be in for a nasty surprise.

However, you are right that, not only do we see an exaggerated version of what's going on in the house in the highlights, we also impose our opinions on the housemates. Those we like we give more leeway and excused to for their actions than those we don't.

Not quite - to proceed in the game you just need eyes, the colour doesn't matter. So, if anything, the producers are protecting Emily, rather than wanting her up.

Red ones should be given to those the housemates seem have a negative impact on the house. But Big Brother states any impact is better than no impact, so both white and red eyes are valued at one point each.
