Like I've said before; the premise of this show has been ruined with the modern-day use of social media. It's no longer total strangers we're dealing with anymore. It's funny because it's almost like we're Big Brother in a way because we have control of certain things that they're not privy whilst they're in the house.

You can't stop people from being disgusted by what they say though, whether it was a few years ago or very recently.

It makes no difference. Big Brother airs for 48 minutes a night and is a show about a bunch of strangers living in a glorified television set, partaking in tasks that involve being electrocuted, gunged in fish guts, dressing up as scarecrows or pirates, nominating one another to be evicted, having secret houses that watch over you, the list goes on. It is faux reality, it's not real.

And even if you disagree with that (which I think is just silly), I watch it as a form of escapism as I do with most TV shows because that's part of the reason they exist. I do not watch it wishing to find someone to relate to or a new best friend, and why anyone would with the types of people they cast is beyond me. I want to watch people I could never live with, doing things I wouldn't surround myself with in the real world - because if I wanted normality and nice people, I can just...go outside and see my friends?

Oh and they're housemates not people. If I'm judging them as the latter I can acknowledge their faults but I judge them as the former because that's the point of the show. They are merely characters on a show I watch for 48 minutes a night, who I support bears no reflection on my values or anything I stand for in the real world.
