you can make the same argument with any swimming pool - in fact i think the numbers of kids who accidentally drown in pools is higher than being accidentally shot by a poorly stored handgun per annum

I guess that varies quite heavily by area, there's probably little gun ownership in many cities where restrictions are a lot tighter but I'd expect its more like a majority in the south

I don't think I'd own one but I did quite enjoy shooting a couple for the first time this year at a Texas gun range.
