This 20year old Student Alfie Meadows
is the one case that the Student Unions will use.
His mother, Susan Meadows, 55, an English literature lecturer at Roehampton University,
said this morning he was talking and better.

Student has emergency brain surgery

Absolutely zero sympathy from me - he shouldn't have been there and I don't believe he was protesting "peacefully". His family should be ashamed of him. The rioters all look exactly what they are,a bunch of out of control thugs, defacing property and national monuments, attacking our police force and our future king. They are a total disgrace to this country and I hope that those that can be identified are caught, prosecuted and end up with a criminal record that will follow them all their lives. It's no more than they deserve.

Let the morons pay for their own education, because three years in uni is clearly not enough to ever make any of these arseholes remotely intelligent, empathetic or responsible. The future of our country?? God help us all.

Once they've identified all the morons involved, let's hope they're all presented with a hefty bill for the damage they've caused.

Take the funds directly from student finance and penalise all students for the small minority. then they'd think again about these daft things

Disrespecting the Cenotaph and other war memorials is horrible but you can't blame his Dad. He's one of the most mild-mannered people in Rock music. Imagine he is horrified at this.

Yes, I agree, he is a Cool Guitar Man

enough.
On the BBC London Local TV News
Charlie was on Drugs or Drunk.

And James , with Respect,
he is also in a photo next to the Royal Car.
That had a Stick going through the open windows

I think everyone was as bad as each other. The minority of police, minority of protesters and well, the government and Nick Clegg.

My best friend was kettled into the area and asked to leave as she was getting stuck in the middle of the crowd, she managed to make it to the front to politely ask the police to let her go, not only because she was scared and it was getting violent, but she wanted to watch Coronation Street, before she managed to say anything, the policeman hit her with the baton and she was driven to hospital. There are some recordings of the police beating innocent people who PLEADED to get out of the kettle, they better be careful because the small amount of the police will go to court if the recordings are shown.

So it's not all the protesters fault (there were over 29,000 peaceful protesters, and like 400 violent ones (most were probably not students).

However, i think the people who did the violence and crimes and URINATED on the memorials should be punished.

If the majority of "peaceful" students are too dim and naive to understand that their protests are now being hijacked by rent-a-mob, then I can only conclude they haven't much hope in hell of going far in life, so their loss to the nation is negligible. Any intelligent student would, from the evidence of the past "peaceful protests", know that the most sensible thing would be to steer clear of any involvement and find other ways of making their feelings known that don't involve breaking the law.

Again zero sympathy from me for any students who got thumped by the police who are hardly able, in the heat of the moment, able to interview students to determine their intentions when they are in their faces! Any student who attended today knew full well how things would pan out, so if they got batterred, TOUGH!

Why is Nick Clegg getting all the bile for this anyway? He isn't even PM. And you can't explicitly say who is and who isn't a student.

I can understand at why Clegg is getting hammered in this dispute with Students, many Lib Dem seats were won largely by and with the Student votes and also Students 'help' in the campaign too.

Having said that as a Student, I believe the way to go forward now is to ensure that at every opportunity Students vote against the Lib Dems in any seat or Local election that they can.
I was not there but I am appalled at the events of yesterday, I am sickened that the Royal car was attacked, Students have to see that these protests will be infiltrated by people wanting to cause trouble, Students also have to see that the press and media are just waiting for such bad things taking place so they can fill their papers and programmes with it.

These forms of protests are not the way anymore, the times we live in now with threats of all sorts of violence and terrorism from a variety of sources, means these protests often are doomed before they start. Time to stop them.

Get revenge through the ballot box, that is where politicians get hurt most when they lose, this is not the way anymore.
It is near impossible to get a peaceful protest march anymore as some will always abuse it and hijack it,time to stop, use the ballot box. Make that and votes count.
