I wouldn't mind doing another one, but the only thing is... I'd have to jettison off the Pointless spinoff game, just because doing both at the same time, last time around, was a major headache and I felt a bit stretched and like I wasn't giving the game my all... just because after an hour or two of counting answers twice AND checking they were factually correct for Pointless, I was at the point (mentally) of just being like HERE ARE THE RESULTS NOW SOD OFF I NEED GIN

so unless someone wants to take over Pointless, I'll scrap it and just go ahead with a Top Answers game?

All I did really was keep a Word (or Wordpad, Notepad, etc) file open and at the end of every round, take down everyone's answers for the questions from Top Answers and check if they were right... so what I'd usually do is wait until I had everyone's answers, get the questions in bold, and write a list of every member who took part... for example:

And then fact-check it, to see it was actually correct (or technically correct, anyway, depending on your point of view enjoy that burden)... and if they're incorrect, there were 17 sets of answers so they score 17pts... and then check for duplicates, so in this instance 3 people said Dancing Queen so they'd score 2pts each... and then poor old Isembard forgot to answer, so he has to score 17 as well, sadly

It's... yeah you can probably see why I want to get rid of hosting it

At the end of the round I will take all unique scores and give them "0" points. Everyone else who submits the same answer will incur a point... depending on the number of sharing persons. For example: if, by some atrocity, 9 of you all said "Laos", then you would score 8 points (because 2 people sharing would be 1 point) for that question.

...I’m not completely understanding why Dancing Queen wouldn’t get 3 points as opposed to two but you’ve said similar here so could I just do it that (..for instance, Dancing Queen was said by 7 people so I’ll give those 7 people, 6 points...just take the number the number of people who gave the answer and then remove 1 point...would that work ...?.....

Re: the points thing, the "penalty" score is always one less than the number of people who said the same thing, yeah... just because everyone else is scoring 0 if they're pointless, rather than just 1... (otherwise everyone would have 1pt for a unique answer)

no because its set of answers are independent from Top Answers with the Pointless answers you can only compare it to what everyone said for Pointless... I was having to take a note when I was hosting both games though, yeah, if that's what you mean... I just had a separate word file for each game.

...although maybe the idea of comparing to Top Answers scores as well would be a nice new cruel format

so for example if, in Top Answers, 22 people said "Dancing Queen" and then only 3 people said it for Pointless, it would score 2pts as it is, but 24 if you want to combine the two

I'm coming up with questions now but wanted to ask for a general consensus on something:

When Niamh hosted she would have 15 questions per round...I think because I wanted to make it easier for myself when hosting both games, I reeled it back to 10 per round.

Would TiBB prefer 10 or 15? And also: how many rounds? I've done ten rounds in the past but if you think that's too many I can axe a few (looking at you, "miscellaneous"!)

I've also brought back some old rounds ("food and drink" and "sports") and replaced "video games" and "Big Brother" with them...
