Scream 4 gets poster, release date and Wes Craven says if Scream 4 is a hit there will be a Scream 5 and 6!



Can we count on Scream 4 remaining an R-rated movie with blood and guts and all that fun stuff?

I think that’s safe to say. I’ve very excited about it. At this point in my career, Scream is one of the longest running stories I’ve told. It’s fascinating to still have actors who are very much into continuing their roles and have great chemistry. Part of the reason these three characters are still alive is because they’re so great. We haven’t wanted to kill them.

And, should Scream 4 become a hit, you are signed on for Scream 5 and 6, right?

Yeah, I’m signed on for the duration.

Ashley Greene as Jill Kessler; Sidney's cousin and new main character of the film. She is described as "Pretty in an ingenue way. Smart, strong. A little goofy, but she makes it sexy. Full of contradictions, but instantly likeable." She is supposedly not close with her cousin Sidney.
Hayden Panettiere as Kirby Reed;Jill's best friend. "Cute and quirky, was a tomboy until a year ago... now she's alternative, and sexy. She's a pop culture, horror aficionado," and "a nerdy film geek".
Rory Culkin as Charlie Walker; "Messy cute... friends with Jill and Kirby. Likens himself to Randy Meeks without the geek part, but no so such luck... he's a geek. He may have a crush on Jill, but he'll never admit to it if he does."
Lake Bell as Deputy Judy Hicks; "Decidedly sexy, but a bit off. She went to high school with Sidney, although Sidney doesn't remember her. She perhaps like her boss, Dewey Riley, a little bit too much.

To be honest.. it is logic.. because Sydney (Neve Cambell) was pondering whether to go back to do another Scream film.. so maybe she gave in and took up the offer because she has like only 1 or 2 scenes to do.. like you said.. (the first 10 minutes) mmmmmm..

Scream creator Kevin Williamson has allegedly been replaced as screenwriter on the latest instalment in the horror franchise.

According to Zap2It, director Wes Craven has drafted in Ehren Kruger to work on the script for the currently in-production sequel.

Williamson, who penned the first two Scream films before Kruger came on board to write the third, is now said to have no involvement in the series.

Sources have claimed that Hayden Panettiere is "beyond frustrated with the changes" to the script as her character "used to be really sharp" but has been "dumbed down significantly".

The deputy sheriff role for Marley Shelton, recently vacated by Lake Bell, has also been cut down and Lauren Graham is said to have quit the project after losing screen time in her role as Emma Roberts's mother.

Kruger's other writing credits include Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen and The Ring, while Williamson is a producer on The CW show Vampire Diaries.
