He never quite said that he didnt agree with people being gay either(that I heard anyways, I may have missed an episode somewhere along the line). I just saw him getting quite pissed off at the suggestion that his son might be gay. Which, may be wrong, but I expect many many straight men would be the same.

Someone please correct me if I am wrong...

More likely he's now just too old to cut it. Or just BSing for TV like he has done before apparently. And his latest court case is very recent so..

And I suppose you're another one who wants to sweep his sexism and homophobia under the carpet becuase it suits? Yeah, like I said before about people adjusting their moral compass.
He sounded pretty sincere to me but I guess that's open to interpretation, and wasn't his latest court cases because he'd got assaulted by 2 of his cousins

As for his apparent sexism and homophobia I've not really seen any examples of him being discriminatory in that sense; he might hold views that would be considered so but a lot of it is probably due to his culture and upbringing, and like Livia said he's not really homophobic or sexist in an aggressive way and his views would probably be shared by a lot of the population. It's not something I condone but I find it hard to use it as a basis for actually disliking him as a housemate.

He is good but he was pushing his luck last night with Bobby, he is very lucky Bobby didn't take it seriously or Paddy would have ended up being drowned in the pool

Paddy did an interview just before he went in the house where he stated that a good friend of his was gay, so I doubt he's homophobic.

Oh well, that makes it all alright with the world then. It makes up for everything else about Paddy. All hail Paddy.

I guess he can't win either way then. He's lambasted if he says he doesn't like gays and equally lambasted if he says he does.

Its not quite that though is it? If he was truly homophobic, he would not have a gay mate. He would be disgusted by said person.

Just because you dont want your son to be gay, that does not make you homophobic. In my eyes anyways. And pretty sure its a view shared by most straight men, and even maybe some gay men too.

How can you come at this with a balanced opinion having never watched the show? Seems you just have a preconceived notion if what Paddy would be like and are using that as a basis to judge him

And where is the evidence of Paddys raging homophobia? All I've seen is Sally asking what he would do if his son was gay and he said "why do you always come out with these wise cracks?", can't quite remember the conversation exactly but a lot of people would feel a bit uncomfortable in that position

Well one would assume seeing as this person is his friend that he does like him! Unless your idea of friendship is different to mine.

thats ONE specific gay. Hello!

he may have known him from way before he even came out. For you to hold that up as proof he can't be homophobic is just ridiculous.

Why does it bother you so much what I think? I don't think I have ever posted anything overly nasty about Housemates or even that many posts. Plus I read the tweets posted on forums, which on the whole must cover most of the highlights shows all 45 minutes of them, which to be fair is all those watching see, 45 minutes a day, so are hardly in much more of a position to debate a housemate than I am then, plus when so many you tubes or vids are posted up, those not watching get the benefit of those, plus reading posts, and I have said before I watch the eviction shows to see who gets evicted and watch their interviews, which must show a fair amount of the highlights. So all in all I am as much clued up as those watching their 45 mins a day really.

I also haven't mentioned about any homophobia, I have just replied in relitively tongue in cheek posts to a few posts. So don't understand why you are getting so het up about differing opinions about your favourite?

Well it's true Paddy does mumble a bit and maybe he can't help it but maybe Bobby felt as if Paddy was saying something under his breath? Paddy was already wound up. I liked the fact that Bobby stood his ground and dared to have an opinion Paddy didn't like but it was just a disagreement, none were in the wrong.

I don't think Bobby is being fake with Jedward either, they've had a few playfights and have spent a lot of time together recently. Friendships change in the house.

I think that statement in itself is ridiculous. There doesn't seem to be any point in further debate. You've made up your mind that Paddy is homophobic without any proof to back up the fact, so we'll just have to agree to disagree on this.

I think Paddy might have been wound up by the fact that Bobby said that he thought a few others had a chance of winning the show over Kerry (that is not going to happen now of course).

It doesn't bother me at all, that's probably the first post I've directed at you but I've seen you say you don't watch the show so I consider it pretty reasonable to enquire as to what your basing your judgements on, don't know why've you feel that was offensive, it wasn't intended to be so.

And the homophobia part of my comment wasn't actually aimed at you specifically, it was just a general thought on some of the criticism towards Paddy
