Apparently some of the England women’s team have taken to Twitter and the like to criticise/ castigate Graeme Souness for referring to yesterday’s Spurs v Chelsea match as a throwback where we got our game back .. “ it was a proper man’s game that “
The world has gone crazy I’m thinking that It may work against the women’s ‘drive forward’ as well ... as many will side with Souness ::: Graeme Souness alluded to football as a "man's game" after a fiery London derby between rivals Chelsea and Tottenham. Thomas Tuchel and Antonio Conte squared off more than once, resulting in both of them receiving a red card and a clash between coaching staff and players at full-time. Sky Sports pundit Souness said: "It's a mans game all of a sudden again." At the time he was sat next to former England international Karen Carney who looked a bit perplexed following the comment. ::: Women's football player Bethany England was among a number of observers who slammed Sky Sports pundit Graeme Souness following comments he made during the broadcaster's coverage of Chelsea vs Tottenham in the Premier League on Sunday. Souness made the reference more than once, also referring to watching a game with "men at it". On social media, England's Bethany England tweeted: “'It’s a man’s game', 'Men at it' Get in the bin. What a disgraceful thing to say after the summer this country has just seen." https://twitter.com/itsthepidgehere/...2%2Fframe.html ::: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

It's hard to believe he didn't know what he was saying, he went on about Men and a Mans game more than once, you could forgive him for thinking out loud once but sat beside an ex female football player, in a year that women have brought football 'home', his words were certainly a little dinasaurish in my view

Yes in relation to the refs blowing for any challenge but this season they have been told not too and we are getting more physical exciting games

![]() Tbh he probably should've worded it a bit differently, but I think that Souness tried to play up to his "masculine" image yesterday about how he likes rough and ready Football, but it's come across to some people the wrong way. I mean alternatively he could be being an asshole, but I don't think that Souness would still be on Sky Sports if he really held misogynistic views as it would damage their brand.

He was referring to the way the modern "mens" game has gone it was nothing to do with women's football.
As in back 20 years ago the tackles were meatier and there was more passion (and the refs let the game flow more. |

It's not fair that Souness mentions men alongside football. It's not like we've had woman and football rammed in our faces for the past few years.

If women arne't fighting with the Trans community then they're fighting with men.
They'll have no allies left soon. |

The most generous interpretation of this is that he's pretty thick for not realising how it would come across. As soon as he said it everyone was saying how he'd get in trouble for the comments so the reaction was obvious
