Big Brother was solid for Channel 5 with 1.44m (8%) at 10pm.
No, these ratings really aren't too bad. It's doing Channel 5 a world of wonders.

It's annoying that they haven't reported the +1 ratings. We always have to force it out. No idea what the +1 for last night was yet. Apparently it isn't reported if it's under 100k, but still would be nice to know.

I know. I never understand that. I've looked for them everywhere but they're not there. I'd probably guess around 70-99k more, as it usually does. I don't see it being any lower than that.

Atleast ir didnt drop and now we know we have a steady following.
I hope theres a big controvercy which will spread all over twitter like pants gate. They got over 3 million just because of that argument. Last edited by daniel-lewis-1985; 08-06-2012 at 01:53 PM. |

I think Beiber is one one of the shows
![]() Hope we can still beat the last 2 nights. A rating of 1.7m would be good. I think that's what the first eviction of BB12 got (Tashie's eviction was the 2nd highest rated eviction after Tom's the day before the finale which got 1.8m). So even a rating of 1.6m will beat most of the BB12 eviction ratings. |

Graham Norton has two huge guests in the form of Cheryl Cole and Katy Perry as well so ratings for his show will probably be slightly higher than normal tonight.

Think it will jump up to 1.7 tonight for the wildcard even though the shows gonna be a bit **** seeing as they have to cram this and an eviction into 1 hour.

Tbh, for big brother with all it's history, 1.5mil is poor. But on channel 5 thats a pretty damn tidy rating, considering most shows are lucky to get even a million.
People just need to accept BB is in its 13th series, people lose intrest. But it's obviusly got a cult following of around 1.5million as this and the last series prove. With advertisement belive it or not people still don't even know its on channel 5, live feed, a wider range of housemates in terms of age, and perhaps if 5 can find a way of broadcasting in Ireland and Scotland the ratings will average around 1.8-2mil a night arguably. My gut feeling is that whilst 5 may be far from overjoyed with the start BB13 has had, they will be reasonably satisfied with how this run is going so far albeit in these very early stages. And other entertainment programmes on the channel flopping like Kitchen Wars last night with less than 900,000 can only strengthen BB's chances, especially as the marketing for that show was very similar with dedicated idents, extensive promo across the network and advertising on other channels. I think people do underestimate how valuable even an audience like 1.5m + could be to Channel 5 every night for 9 or so weeks, it might not sound like a lot but especially with the strong young adult following it has it does add a lot of value to the channel. And with the broadcaster exploring every possible avenue to generate new revenue streams, including this week a new product placement deal with a big supermarket chain, it's hard to imagine that even at this level they are not making money from BB, and CBB must be a nice little earner for them indeed. |

I think it will as there will always be interest in CBB at least as CBB9 was my favourite series to date on Channel 5 as we had such a mixture of housemates and the ongoing Denise and Michael feud.

I went to the shop last night, and for the first time since literally BB7 - when I looked into people's windows on the way down the street, every single person [I kid you not] was watching Big Brother.
![]() It feels like the ratings should be brilliant, you're all acting like 1.3 etc is brilliant, the excuse 'That's good for Channel 5' shouldn't even come into it anymore - BB13 deserves alot higher than this, that's the bottom line. So did BB12 mind you. It ******ing sickens me how we need to have a house full of Celebrities for this show to work.

No, you'll have to wait a little longer, I'm afraid. Friday ratings always take quite some time to be published, so you can expect a release of them from between 3 and 6pm.

Disgrace. They can only blame themselves I suppose, with that 10pm slot.
