I wasn't keen on Season 2, the pacing is DREADFUL and it only really takes off in the last two episodes. As great as the last two are, I pretty much feel that this season had a film's worth of content stretched out to fit the 9 hour run time. They really could have cut this series down to a two hour film and nothing of value would have been lost in terms of cut content.

Max and Billy were mostly pointless additions who were literally just there as padding and the payoff for the D'art storyline was pretty poor given how much time they spent on him in the first four episodes. The Justice for Barb storyline was pretty drawn out and pointless as well. It just felt like the writers were like 'We need to give Jonathan and Nancy something to do. **** 'em off for an episode or two for some silly storyline that could have been done in one scene.'

I think the Demodogs weren't that great either, I get that Stranger things was akin to Alien with the Demogorgon and this time they wanted to go for an Aliens styled storyline but I don't think the dogs had the same punch as the Gorgon did and the Shadow Monster felt like it was just there to set up for Season 3.

Eleven being sidelined for most of the season felt a bit crap too, I actually didn't mind Episode 7 at all, my biggest issue with it is that it should have happened earlier since it disrupted the flow of the story by having what is essentially a bottle episode right before the attack on the Lab was going to begin. The episode itself wasn't too bad though.

As for what I liked, Steve's character went from strength to strength, I really liked Bob and I liked that they redeemed Lucas after making him too much of an obstacle character in the first season. Hopper and Eleven's relationship was also great but keeping them separated for so many episodes was a mistake as was waiting until the last episode for Eleven to reunite with the Party. I also really liked the ending although the tease for next season felt a bit weak.

Next series needs better pacing, a better monster, they need to give Max and Billy a reason for being included and a more well developed storyline that can actually fill the episode count without filler.

I wish Eleven had been in it more too but I think it was good to see her leave Hawkins for a bit and see her mother and sister, I presume we'll see more of the sister in season 3, I hope so anyway.

I was devastated when Bob died but you could see that coming a mile off, if he hadn't stood there smiling at Joyce instead of running out the bloody door though fgs Bob

She was kidnapped when she was older, I think and not as a baby like Eleven so she would have had her accent before being taken.

and overall I hope they don’t focus too much on the relationships next season or it’ll turn a bit Nickelodeon

has it ever even been explained how they get their powers? If they’re scouted for having them or Brenner and the lab give them the powers? I know they did experiments on Eleven’s mum but even then I don’t know if she already had powers

I thought it was the experiments and the drugs they were giving Elevens mum gave her her ones, they didn't say anything about the others I don't think but if what Dezzy said about 8 being kidnapped when she was older is true then she must have been scouted?

Finished season 2 and it didn't disappoint, this is a good show. Honestly, season 2 does have some flaws but I think I might have preferred it over season 1. I just enjoyed this season throughout for some reason despite

not caring for the whole Nancy/Jonathan storyline that took too long and just the general flow being more slow paced.

It just worked for me and I was guessing more on what would happen next compared to season 1 which I found predictable basically throughout. I also think maybe I enjoyed this more because Dustin felt like he was a big focal point for this season with the whole Dart situation and he's probably my favorite character so that was nice to see. Easily the best out of the kids.

Episode 8 was a thrill and the season 2 finale > season 1 finale.

I think a big part of why Steve was so likable this season though was because he wasn't tied down to a love interest and could get involved with the others. Assuming next season takes place 1 year later again like this one did then he might not even be in Hawkins anymore, they had him filling out his college application in Episode 1. Hopefully him becoming such a fan favourite this season will make them keep him in it though.

Finished s02e04, and it's about time things start to get serious. I think they could easily cramp these four episodes in two. Someone needs to introduce the British way of doing a miniseries to the Americans.
Slow and obvious so far, which is quite disappointing.

Given the fact that he's been so popular with fans this season, I think they'll be all over renewing his contract and probably even bumping UP his screen time rather than down. Especially with the big question mark hanging over Jonathan's return...

Guess they’ll go with the whole didn’t go to college/started working for his dad storyline that he was talking about in one episode, but don’t know what they’ll do with him given Nancy and Jonathan will probably stay together. Maybe Billy will be a bigger character next season be that’ll consume him
