..they've had these for a month or so at my branch and they're actually pretty easy to use and very quick as well after the first few times of getting used to the different transactions...and they always have staff to help and explain if anyone needs it...

And what happens during the inevitable "technical difficulty" periods? I don't like this over reliance on machines. Last edited by Marsh.; 11-07-2014 at 04:29 PM.

..even with cashiers, 'machines' are still used though and they do sometimes have problems now if they can't access your account so this really is just the same except the customers are using the machines directly instead of a member of staff....

...I wasn't sure the first time I used it either but they are actually pretty cool and easy and the queues seem much shorter now..(all the customers have probably closed their accounts in protest..)...but you feel like a bit of a money launderer just doing everything you need to so quickly and actually you feel a bit more in 'control', I think anyway.. ...life in the fast lane, Marsh....

...like I said, we already have a few, and the problems are endless, from technical faults to user error... people often need help. With that in mind, "How many staff do they have to troubleshoot problems or help new faces? Y'know... how many people are on hand milling around, to help people to use the machines?" "Err... usually two... or three" says our concerned Aussie friend.

...they've only had them around a month or so at my branch, Cherie and there always seems to be more staff then there was before because I can only ever recall there being two cashiers at any one time even at it's busiest and the last time I was in, there were three people helping if anyone needed it and I think people would always need some help, so that's possibly what they plan to use the cashiers for so that no jobs will be lost...

...I think you can see still do your transactions with a member of staff if you want to and I guess that some people prefer to do that and possibly always will but the staff are encouraging using the self tills because they are quite efficient and I guess it might just be more of an alternative to internet banking which we do anyway...
