I would say because the comment wasn’t so much about the wedding as it was an insinuation of racism by a ‘right wing’ Christian party. It is very much a case of Pot and kettle in my opinion.

Only if you're lumping "lefties!" all together as one individual... Do you actually know whether or not this specific person is OK with criticisms of other religions? Or are you just assuming they're not?

If I’m assuming anything it would be no different to her assumptions. She was assuming a Christian group were firstly ‘right wing’ and secondly ‘racist’. Couldn’t get more biased and frankly commonly ‘left wing’ assumptions than that.
