seems to me the interest declined during 2nd round, that's why I thought maybe one round is about right
and maybe make it more interactive, e.g. have a list of 50 or less and then play a +1/-1 type final?

I'm just jesting mate.

I've just had a pm from ToySoldier though on this very subject and his proposal is that the rules need changing so that members can vote for anyone ------whose initials are T.S. so that narrows it down.

The amount of ties there were after the first round (including a tie for #1), it just wouldn't work to have just one. Plus, Round 2 gives people a concrete list to vote from containing people that they may have forgot to vote for in the first round. The current format works... it's been the same for almost ten years. If I were to change anything it would be minor details.

As for the interest declining, I disagree. In the first round I received 55 votes, and in the second round I received 49. People aren't going to carry on keeping this thread active, most are just waiting for the countdown.
