The ease of use aspect has been out the window since the rise of Steam to be honest, there's no real difference between using Steam and using the console digital stores. Though I personally MISS the old days of fiddling around with DOS prompts, it was like a mini game... If you got the game to start you felt like a hacker. If sound was working, bonus points!

But these days the launcher does all the work .

The price difference is big, though, I'll give you that. Its not a cheap hobby .

Don't even mention bloody Bitcoin. I didn't realise that I had paid more than DOUBLE for my latest card upgrade as my last one until I randomly stumbled on the email receipt from years ago. Thanks crypto

RAM is sort of pricey these days too, used to be cheap as. Though SSDs are dirt cheap at the moment...
