I know what Nicky means although its not players egos. The media always inflate England's chances well before its justified and that "infects" the general public and it does become quite unbearable. However, in this case, given that England have reached the semis the enthusiasm and excitement is actually justified, they are 90 mins away from a potential final.

I thought Sweden would be their hardest game, but it ended up England were the threat to them .......Dont fancy the Croatia team, its going to be hard, but if we played like we've played all tournament we should beat them

Have a feeling the ball will finally go in for Sterling in this game. He’s been great but just hasn’t had the luck in terms of finishing.

The stage is set for him now though and he’s the only one of the Front Four not to bag yet.

I'd be really happy for him if he finally scored. Most people only talk about his poor finishing and forget how important his movement is for the team.

I'm on England's side this time, sorry neighbours.

He was great against Sweden in general but he looked a bit error-prone for the last month or two of the PL season so I'm starting to worry about his goalscoring abilities. Sure he'll rediscover them someday, just not sure it'll be in this tournament.

Thankfully we have Welbeck ready to pounce

but with my lyrics

England got the power

with panama, Tunisia, Colombia they had to dance

they never gave sweden a chance

they got the power

you'll never walk alone

because baby it's coming home

Im never into football but i always feel invested in the world cup, its been amazing so far and i do now feel that England stand a chance

The last time England made the semi final was when I was just 8 days old. Now 28 years later I think it is time for england to win the semi final. I have been impressed by the way they have played and its been an interesting world cup in the way it has shaped out with huge teams like Spain Brazil Germany and Portugal falling at earlier stages.

I think more than ever England have the chance. I honestly dont expect them to make a final again in my lifetime. Yes it has been to the way they have played, team strategy and some good decisions from Southgate but I do feel the big teams falling at earlier hurdles has contributed to England getting so far.

So now they really have to embrace their chance and get to that final

I for one am nervous and I cant even imagine how the players must feel

I do think it will go to penalities and be on the edge of your seat tv

Cant wait!

Although skill is needed I do think a lot of it is down to luck , so hopefully England will be lucky this time.

because i know it's england's destiny that they are already in the final, and doesn't matter against france or Belgium, england is going to win

i feel sad for Croatia, but i'm happy they got this far like in 1998
