Buying a book more than likely means coming into contact with the actual church... their recruitment is all selling lots and lots of books (very expensive). So probably the answer is tailored towards steering ppl towards the most direct path in. Smart if coached.

...well if you have to be coached in living your life and what your life rules are etc...then there lies the problem with Scientology, which should be a no go for anyone...
