Well they do have minds, like humans have minds, just not the mind exactly like a human. It's all just pragmatics.

I eat meat - as long as the animals whilst alive are looked after carefully and killed in a humane way then eating meat is acceptable for me.

I agree,BUT you can never trust people to follow the rules ,as has been proven many a time ,that puts me off a lot as I can never be sure.

I do always think the 'humane killing' thing is utter nonsense, there's no such thing as humanely killing a living thing.

Everything in my head logically points towards meat-eating as barbaric and unnecessary and yet I still do it. It might be out of spite towards zealous vegans who scream and whinge about sheep having feelings or whatever. It's mostly because bacon and chicken taste delicious. I'm quite content being immoral in that respect. Pigs and cattle wouldn't be bred anyway if it weren't for their meat and dairy value.

Well yes, in a monkey eat pig world it is barbaric.
If most had to kill to eat meat there would be a steep incline in vegetarians in the UK.
There are other ways of getting protein...
If there was not so much land given over to breeding for the----- likes of maccy d's.... It's quite obscene.

Thread bump 2 (one of those days).

Anyone else think veganism’s rooted in weak sentimentality for the most part?
