I don't think so. He's just saying he eats what he likes. Sometimes he eats meat as well.

Actually flexitarian is a recognised descriptive word.

I'm one.
It's a person who mainly eats vegetarian but will occasionally eat fish and/or meat.

My son is a flexatarian, has been for years.
I try my best, basically it’s just cutting down on meat consumption, without giving it up altogether.
To be honest, it’s the way we as a family have eaten for years, mainly white meat as well rather than beef.
